I wish I could reshape my brain. Change the way I think. Let go of the past and not worry about the future.
I think the only time I am able to do this is when I am teaching. I am transported into the here and now and I take my students with me. At least I try to.
Some of you come to yoga for a good workout. And for that nice feeling of relaxation at the end of the practice. So when I speak of unblocking or strengthening chakras, I wonder how much of this makes sense to you.
Yoga can be a good physical workout. But it is much more. It is all about energy. Moving energy. It’s about opening blocked energy. Energy that is blocked and that is preventing you from moving forward. And although sometimes it is so difficult to unblock this energy, it is, I believe, the most rewarding and important benefits of a yoga practice. When we unblock energy, we are in fact reshaping our mind. Reshaping the way we think.
(Next week I will take this a step further and present the scientific approach to how energy moves during a yoga practice.)
For now, I will conclude by saying that the more control we have over our mind, the more control we have over our life. And the more at peace we can be.
Peace being the ultimate goal of yoga.
Namaste! my dear students
